Thun World Cup Event
06:34 - By Lachlan Carracher - News - no comment
This years last world cup event in Thun was a major success. Between the perfect location for an event of this nature and an extremely well organised event it was hard to go wrong. The feature was a small flushy wave that is created by a small dam upstream.

The location is set in the picture perfect Swiss town of Thun, surrounded by the Swiss Alps, great bars and of course very beautiful people.

This wave really separated the good paddlers from the best, rides consisted of Panams, pistol flips, donkey flips and other basic wave moves.

I personally travelled to this event in preparation for next years World championships in the same location. Next years event will sure out scale this year’s event and any other World Championships in the past. The organisers will learn from this years event and have also received 6 times the budget of the 2008 world cup event.
Results from the overall world cup:
K1 Men were:
Peter Csonka Nick Troutman Dustin Urban
K1 Women it was:
Emily Jackson Ruth Gordon Fiona Jarvie
JNR K1 Men results:
Sebastian Jason Craig Michael Palmer
OC1 Class
Jez Blanchard
C1 Class
1st Stepan Fiedler

Congratulations to the Simon Hilter and the other organisers of the event and I look forward to returning to Thun for the World Championships next year.
