Best. Wedding. Ever!

So, Leif and I got hitched May 28th on the Klamath River in Orleans, CA ... and Fluid had a big presence. Of course, the whole weekend was an epic. I would expect nothing less.

The scene

Two days before the wedding Leif and I decided to run crapo creek, which lived up to its name. Due to an infestation of logs going was really really slow and we ended up hiking out at dusk and getting back to camp at 11:00pm. I like to think that our parents were only slightly worried, but I did hear that my mom took a few sleeping pills.

Despite some pouring rain in the two hours before the wedding ceremony and afterwards, the sun decided to shine whenever the bride (that's me!) decided to be outside in her wedding dress. During the event itself we got some beautiful photos compliments of Darin McQuoid and various relatives. The wedding ceremony took place at the Ikes river access and to top it all off the water level for the Ikes wave was awesome.

Leif before wedding Leif, was paddling just an hour before the wedding. He was still in his boating gear when I arrived- but quickly changed into a dashing groom.

yeah on rock WE ROCK!

After the ceremony we had about 7 rafts and 30 kayaks float down to the reception downriver. It was incredible to see so many people go down river with us on our first run as husband and wife.

wedding guests in boating gear Suggested guest attire for the ceremony was "river formal" - drysuits encouraged, black ties not required.

getting dressed We quickly geared up after the ceremony.

kissing in eddy in eddy Oops, we got caught kissing in the eddy.

Leif and I took our first dance on the wave and pulled off a double surf 360 kiss.

float and boquet I passed out parts of my boquet to eligibles and long dating friends during a champagne toast during the rainy float.

The rain let up just in time for an incredible dinner and dancing to Tapwater, an awesome band from Portland. We were lucky to get them for our wedding since they usually don't do that sort of show.

classy affair My mom's very classy river table setting.

Leif and Nat first dance A rare event- Leif actually can dance, I can testify.

The most memorable part of the wedding was the cake. I put Leif in charge of organizing the cake...

cake cutting.

The story goes something like this: Leif made a bet with Celliers and lost (details classified). And so, yes, we had the fluid logo on our wedding cake- so I smooshed it all up his nose for retribution.

Overall it was an incredibly fun and classy affair. We even had our own wine label with me boofing Spirit Falls.

And special thanks to our boating family who helped make it the BEST WEDDING EVER!boating friends
